Idle Muse Theatre Company Welcomes New Managing Director

By:

Idle Muse Theatre Company has announced the appointment of Erin Gallagher as Managing Director. An ensemble member and resident Costume Designer since 2013, Erin replaces founding Idle Muse company member, Lenny Wahlberg as Managing Director. However Wahlberg will assist the transition in an advisory capacity for the remainder of this calendar year. Wahlberg, a founding member of Idle Muse Theatre Company, served as managing director for seven years and directed three productions.

Erin Gallagher's Costume Design and Crafts Artisan credits at Ide Muse include Lonesome Hollow, Enchanted April, Rites and Sacrifices, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Erin is also a Costume and Accessories Designer and Crafts Artisan for Erin Rose Design and manager of Wizard of Sorts with her husband Edd Fairman.

"As a founding member and Managing Director, Lenny Wahlberg has worked tirelessly alongside all of us to build a production company of which we're extremely proud. This endeavor has been a labor of love for each of us, filled with incredible successes and memories. During that time, Lenny's name has been synonymous with the role of Managing Director, and we know that for someone as personally invested in the mission of Idle Muse as he is, the decision to pass on stewardship of that role was not an easy one. We're going to miss his leadership deeply in the areas for which we've come to depend on him, and we're profoundly grateful for his more than nine years of service in developing the organization we are today - as well as laying the groundwork for our future success. We also know that Lenny will continue to be a part of the Idle Muse family and we look forward to his contributions to our mission as an Artistic Associate and Emeritus Member" said Idle Muse Artistic Director Evan Jackson.

Now in its ninth season, Idle Muse Theatre Company is a 501c3 non-profit Charity organization that produces theatre which transports. Idle Muse Theatre Company was established in 2006 by theatre artists who were interested exploring the relationship between individuals and worlds they inhabit. Seeking to create production opportunities for themselves and other artists, they believed the best way to do this was to build a "modern guild" of players, an environment where theatre artists of different experience levels and background could develop their craft and learn from each other.

Idle Muse's ensemble is led by Artistic Director Evan Jackson and consists of Brian Bengtson, Tristan Brandon, Erin Gallagher, Matthew J. Gibson, Cat Hermes, Mara Kovacevic, Elizabeth MacDougald, Nathan Pease, Sara Robinson, Nathan Thompson, and Laura Wiley along with several other Artistic Associates.
