House Theatre of Chicago Moves to The Loop With The Magic Parlour at The Palmer House Hilton
The House Theatre of Chicago announces The Magic Parlour: An intimate evening of classic magic with Dennis Watkins at The Palmer House. After playing to full houses for more than 15 months in Wicker Park's Chopin Theatre, The Magic Parlour is moving downtown beginning on February 24, 2012.
In September of 2010, The House Theatre of Chicago hosted a benefit performance with entertainer and House Company Member Dennis Watkins. The event was such a hit that The House decided to produce The Magic Parlour for a limited run. After selling out week after week, The Magic Parlour became a weekly event. Then, after a thrilling New Year's Eve performance in a private suite at The Palmer House, a new relationship was forged and the show has been given a new home.
Only 42 seats are available for each performance of this intimate, sophisticated, close-up magic show in one of the hotel's historic private dining rooms. Guests gather at Potter's Lounge in the hotel's lower level and are escorted to the performance space, where they will enjoy an evening of mind-blowing magic and mind reading with Chicago's own Dennis Watkins.
Dennis Watkins carries awards and honors from the Texas Association of Magicians, the Society of American Magicians, the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Desert Magic Seminar. He travels the US performing for some of the country's biggest companies, as well as colleges and universities from coast to coast.
