Highland Park Players Presents PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL

By:

The Highland Park Players Theater for Young Audiences are tickled pink to bring Pinkalicious the Musical to Highland Park! Performances are February 22, 23, 29, and March 1 at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on all dates. Performances are at Sherwood Elementary School, 1900 Stratford Rd in Highland Park, IL. This special one-hour presentation is performed by adults and teens especially for kids (and parents) of all ages. All performances are followed by an autograph session/meet and greet with the cast.

Based on the immensely popular book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann, this is the tale of Pinkalicious, a little girl who can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, she must figure out a way to get out of this pink predicament.

All tickets are $15. To purchase, please go to www.highlandparkplayers.com.

"Pinkalicious is a wonderful, high energy show that reminds us that pink is for everyone! We don't have to be defined or limited by our gender, and we are all free to be ourselves and love whatever makes us happy! Kids and adults will enjoy the lovable characters and silly antics in this show," says director Jeri Hart. "Highland Park Players is a fantastic organization that is committed to putting on high-quality productions for all audiences. I am so impressed by the talents of my artistic colleagues and commitment of the production team in creating this high caliber production."

The production stars Heidi Hansfield as Pinkalicious, Henry Gessner as Peter, Sabra Gerber as Mrs. Pinkerton, Eric Benveniste as Mr. Pinkerton, Jen Houghton as Dr. Wink, and Sarah Makkawy as Alison. The ensemble features Aria Caldwell, Jacob Cohen, Maya Fliegler, Kaia Mavradas, Alexandra McGarry, Jonathan Protus, and Sue Vani. The show is produced by Scott Schwartz, Carol Lee Wax, and Holly Weis. The creative staff is led by Jeri Hart (Director), Aaron Kaplan (Music Director), and Cathy Jacobson (Choreographer). Other creative staff includes Mansie O'Leary (Costume Design), Donna and Marc Price (Set Designers), Matt Zielinski (Stage Manager), Richard Neumann (Sound Design), and Jacob Cohen (Public Relations).

Want a FREE sneak peak? Pinkalicious the Musical will have two short preview performances, both on Saturday, January 25th; one at 10:00 am at the Glencoe Public Library (320 Park Avenue) and the other at 1:30 pm at the Highland Park Public Library (494 Laurel Avenue).

"Pinkalicious is a delightful treat of a musical," says Producer Holly Weis. "The music is so well written, and the lyrics are so clever. This show features an immensely talented group of performers and with our passionate creative staff, I just know it is going to be a huge hit with our audiences!"
