Hell in a Handbag Productions is set to remount David Cerda's parody of the classic children's television special "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", now in its 14th year!

"Rudolph, the Red-Hosed Reindeer is a story very near and dear to my heart. I immediately related to the original story as a child, as did any kid who felt different. I'm obviously not the only one who feels this way, given the show's long shelf life. We had our first reading in 1997 and people come back year after year. It's really amazing," says Cerda.

The North Pole is in crisis. Thanks to the infamous Santa sextape the morale and morals are at an all-time low. Santa (Michael Hampton*) devises a plan to save his empire by diving headfirst into the Tea Party movement using Connie Vixen (Terry McCarthy*) as his candidate to represent the North Pole. Join Rudolph Alex Grelle* (Rudolph 2009-10, The Rip Nelson Halloween Spooktacular), and his misfit friends - Herbie the 'not gay enough elf' (Chad Ingold*) who wants to be a dentist and Yukon Cornelia (Lori Lee*), the butch prospector with a deep, dark secret - as they search for happiness, and themselves..., Also returning to the show are Ed Jones*, as the downtrodden Mrs. Claus, David Cerda*, Barbara Figgins, Michael S. Miller*, and Chad Ramsey. New to the Rudolph family this year are Katherine Glavin, Joshua Peterson, Billie Bryant, Eli Branson and Kevin Grubb as Sam the Snowman.

Another 'newcomer', AJ Wright (Pussy on the House)is directing Rudolph, the Red-Hosed Reindeer this year. "As a longtime fan of Hell in a Handbag, I couldn't be more thrilled to be directing Rudolph the Red-Hosed Reindeer this year says Wright. "Personally, I feel the story of Rudolph is truly universal -- be your true authentic self, and don't let the opinions of others deter you. I know that I've been faced with that challenge before, just as I'm sure many in our audience has. What Handbag does is deliver that message in a beautifully ridiculous manner, and I'm honored to be leading the charge".

As always, David Cerda has fun new treats in his bag for his Rudolph and this year proves to be as hilarious, horrifyingly politically incorrect and heartwarming as ever.

It doesn't matter if you've been naughty or nice this year... you definitely want to catch the show that Chris Jones (Chicago Tribune) dubbed "an ideal holiday escape for anyone who detests the commercialism of traditional Christmas shows and remember... "Being Normal Isn't Normal At All!"
