HAMILTON Star Teaches Master Class in Northbrook Image

For the first time ever, a Hamilton star is giving unprecedented classes to Northbrook's aspiring performing artists in partnership with Rootz and Broadway Break Thru.

Kyle Weiler, an elite Hamilton cast member will be teaching at Rootz on January 21st, 2019. Dance, voice, and acting - it's all covered and residents can experience the up-close and personal experience learning from these experts.

"I see so much talent and drive in the students now it's inspiring", said Hamilton Cast Member Krystal Mackie about teaching Master Classes. It's amazing to see and know that they are the future. Mackie continued, "I love to share what I know, what my mentors taught me, and what I'm still learning because the learning never stops. The next generation are our future Broadway stars and should know that they too can be on stage staring out to a beautiful Opera House, inspiring the next generation to come. So stay focused, work hard, be persistent, take a variety of classes, study hard, and most importantly be YOU. Always stay true to yourself. It is enough and always will be. "

Rootz worked with Broadway Break Thru to offer this incredible opportunity to not only its students but also residents from surrounding communities including Northbrook, Deerfield, Highland Park, Glenview, and Glencoe.

"We are so thrilled and honored to bring the Hamilton Master Classes to Rootz," said owner Lindsay Gopin. "This is such a great opportunity for dancers from the North Shore to experience the talent of Broadway first-hand on a personal level."

Broadway Break Thru provides nationwide opportunities to young, aspiring artists through performing arts summer camps, pre-college programs, after-school programs and weekend workshops. Broadway Break Thru was founded by David Petro, a Disney, Nickelodeon and Broadway Casting Director, and former Broadway performer.

"Presenting cast members from the Broadway and National Touring Companies of Hamilton as partnerships with theaters, schools and dance studios across the country allows all students the access and opportunity to be tomorrow's next Broadway star," Petro says. "Broadway Break Thru's mission is to provide an exceptional arts education to all aspiring performers. Theater is more than performing arts and entertainment. It's leadership training and life development."
