Fox Valley Rep Announces THE ART OF MURDER, Beginning 1/24

Fox Valley Repertory opens their 2013 theater series with Joe DiPietro's comedic game of clue, full of twists, turns and deception in the comedy mystery, The Art of Murder. Directed by Jason W. Gerace, performances will take place at the Pheasant Run Resort Mainstage (4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL; box office 630-584-6342).

The Art of Murder will preview Thursday, January 24 through Friday, February 1, 2013. The show will open Saturday evening, February 2, 2013 and continue through Sunday, March 17, 2013.

Tickets are priced at $32 on Fridays (and limited Thursday performances), and at $42 on Saturdays and Sundays. Subscription tickets are available for $20 or less when a 5-show season package is purchased. Dinner packages, group discounts and overnight rates are also available.

From the writer of the hit I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and the Tony Award-Winning musical Memphis comes the award-winning whodunit about a frustrated artist, his wife, their insane art dealer and the odd housekeeper. When successful artist, Jack, learns that he has been wronged by his flamboyant art dealer Vincent, he plots a devious plan to kill him. Nothing is quite as it seems in this comedic game of clue full of twists, turnsand deception! The Art of Murder won the 2000 Edgar Award Winner for Best Mystery Play.

The cast of The Art of Murder features (in alphabetical order): Ted Hoerl, Bridget Schreiber, Stephen Spencer, and Mary Winn Heider.
Jason W. Gerace will be directing on the mainstage at Fox Valley Rep for the first time. As the Artistic Associate of American Theater Company, he has directed the most recent productions of It's a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play as well as Associate Directed the World Premieres of The Big Meal (Dir. Dexter Bullard) and Welcome to Arroyo's (Dir. Jaime Castaneda); Curated The Silver Project, a festival of new plays by national and Chicago playwrights celebrating ATC's 25th season, presented during the 2010 TCG National Conference. He recently directed the Jeff Award-winning production of Opus at RedTwist, remounted at Theatre on the Lake.
The Art of Murder runs Thursday, January 24, 2013 through Sunday, March 17, 2013. Show times are: Fridays & Saturdays @ 8pm, and Sundays @ 2pm. Special Thursday performances are January 24 & 31 @ 8pm, and February 7 & 21 @ 2pm. The show is rated PG13.
