If a three-year-old theatre company can be said to have a tradition, Fine Print's "Christmas in Chicago" would certainly warrant the term. The third incarnation of the comedic, musical year-in-review runs December 13-22 at The Alley Stage, 4147 N. Broadway. Shows are Thur-Sat at 8pm and Sun at 3pm.

In "Christmas in Chicago," five actors are ready to perform a hilarious yearinreview show packed with original music, satirical Christmas songs, politically relevant sketch comedy and bushels of holiday cheer. But as the actors fight for the spotlight, their jealousies and insecurities hijack the show and lead it off the rails into their own private lives, with hilarious results.

"Christmas in Chicago" is written by Patrick Kenney and David Himmel, and directed by Aaron Graham, who cocreated the show with original cast members Heather Bodie, A.J. Miller and Tommy Beardmore. Taryn Wood returns to the cast a second time and Stephen Cefalu Jr. joins. Wood and Cefalu delivered acclaimed performances in Fine Print's production of "Boy Small" by MT Cozzola earlier this year.

"Equal parts "Noises Off" and "30 Rock" (for its backstage antics) and "Forbidden Broadway" (only this time it's satirical spoofs of Christmas carols) four actors are muddling through a yearinrevue sketch comedy show while sabotaging each other and trying to steal the spotlight." Chicago SunTimes (2012 feature)

"A four star revue that knocks over the sacred cows and political correctness with panache and a healthy helping of the sardonic humor that is Chicago. - David Himmel and Patrick Kenney pull out the stops and could teach the writers of SNL quite a bit about what is funny. The cast is top notch and the show is seamlessly directed by Aaron Graham." Chicago Theater Beat (2011 review)

After two successful runs at Chicago Dramatists, "Christmas in Chicago" moves this year to The Alley Stage at 4147 N. Broadway, just north of Lakeview in Chicago's Buena Park neighborhood.

The Fine Print Theatre Company presents "Christmas in Chicago," written by Patrick Kenney and David Himmel and directed by Aaron Graham. The Alley Stage, 4147 N. Broadway, December 13 22. Shows are ThurSat @ 8pm and Sun @ 3pm. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at thefineprinttheatre.org or by calling 3129457966.
