Chicago's Lifeline Theatre has announced their Winter 2008/09 Kids’ Events. Rogers Park’s award-winning Lifeline Theatre continues bringing educational opportunities to children.

STORIES COME ALIVE!
Saturday, December 13, 2008, 3-4 p.m.
Rogers Park Library, 6907 N. Clark St., Chicago
Lifeline actors will read stories and play drama games with children ages 5-8 (parents welcome too), featuring stories from Lifeline's KidSeries show "Flight of the Dodo" by Peter Brown.
Parking available (street and lot); CTA accessible (Red Line Morse stop, then west to Clark; buses). This is a free event. Further information at Lifeline Theatre, 773-761-4477.

WINTER BREAK KIDS CLASSES
December 29, 30 and 31, 2008, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago
Lifeline's professional artists will teach basic drama skills which emphasize self-esteem building, artistry and teamwork in an atmosphere of mutual encouragement and respect, appropriate for ages 7-12. Tuition is $120 per child for all three days. Register at 773-761-4477.
 
LIFELINE HOLIDAY PARTY
Saturday, January 3, 2009, 12 noon-3 p.m
Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago
The Lifeline Holiday Party is family fun for kids and adults and includes lunch, drama games, crafts and a “Flight of the Dodo” show. Tickets are$25 (for both adults and kids) for the party and “Dodo” ($15 each for Lifeline subscribers). Attendees can also see “Snowflake Tim” at 11 a.m. for $12. The entire day consists of “Tim” show, party and events, then “Dodo” show. Reservations recommended at 773-761-4477. 

KIDSERIES BOOK CLUB SPECIAL AUTHOR EVENT
Sunday, January 11, 2009, 12 noon-1 p.m.
Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago
Author and illustrator Peter Brown will make a personal appearance to sign copies of his popular book, “Flight of the Dodo,”plus crafts, stories, and live animals. The author event is free. Tickets are $12 for performances of “Flight of the Dodo”at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. from 773-761-4477.

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY WORKSHOP
Monday, January 19, 2009, 9 a.m. to 12 noon
Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago
Martin Luther King Day Workshop features members of Alternatives, Inc.'s break dance troupe Connect Force teaching a three hour workshop on break dancing basics, appropriate for ages 7-12. Tickets are $25. Call 773-761-4477, ext. 1 (advance registration recommended).


PRESIDENT'S DAY WORKSHOP

Now in its 26th season, Lifeline Theatre is known for specializing in original literary adaptations. Its ensemble of artists uses imaginative, unconventional staging to portray sprawling stories in an intimate space.
