Chicago Premiere of The Voysey Inheritance: Remy Bumppo

By: Sep. 18, 2008
Chicago Premiere of The Voysey Inheritance

Voysey was originally written in 1905 yet it still resonates in today's world thanks to America's great history and love of MONEY. David Mamet’s refreshing update of Harley Granville-Barker’s play proves that’s nothing has changed over the past 100 years. This insightful comedy intertwines the wit and passionate dialogue of George Bernard Shaw with the ethical conflicts of Arthur Miller.

Remy Bumppo Theatre Company presents the Chicago premiere of David Mamet’s sleek adaptation of The Voysey Inheritance by Harley Granville-Barker, running Sept. 18 through Nov. 2 in the Upstairs Mainstage of the Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Press Night is Sunday, Sept. 21 at 7:00 pm, reception to follow. The Voysey Inheritance is directed by Remy Bumppo Artistic Director James Bohnen, and features Artistic Associate David Darlow and guest artist Raymond Fox.

“Well, the more able a man is the less the word “honesty” bothers him… and Father was an able man.”—The Voysey Inheritance
