Chicago Fringe Festival to Host 7th Annal Lottery Party, 2/27

The Chicago Fringe Festival, August 31 - September 11, is proud to announce the 7th Annual Lottery Party, Saturday, Feb. 27, doors open at 2 p.m., at Fannie's, 5040-44 W Montrose Ave. The Lottery Party is the gathering where individuals and organizations learn if they will participate in the 2016 Fringe Festival. The Lottery Party is free and open to the public. The random drawing of participants includes bingo, drinks and food from Fannie's. The party is broadcast live for possible applicants who cannot attend to watch the drawing via www.chicagofringe.org.

To be eligible for the 7th Annual Chicago Fringe Festival, potential performers must submit their application by Monday, Feb. 15 at midnight. A total of 50 shows will be accepted into the 2016 Chicago Fringe Festival, half local artists and half non-local artists including the five Kids Fringe shows. The first 13 applicants will be accepted first come, first served. The remaining artists will be entered into the lottery. To apply, click here or visit chicagofringe.org.

The Chicago Fringe Festival 2016 returns to Jefferson Park after its sixth presenting year. The festival will feature 50 groups in about 200 performances selected by lottery. The shows include comedies, dramas, dance pieces, musicals, performance art and the unclassifiable. This is an uncensored, unjuried, no-holds barred performance event that returns 100% of ticket sales to the artists. In their first six years, they have returned more than $172,000 to artists.
