Chicago Charitable Games Fundraiser July 27th

Angela McMahon, Executive Producer and Founder of Chemically Imbalanced Comedy, announced that the Company will hold a fundraiser with Chicago Charitable Games on Sunday July 27, 2008 from noon-midnight. The event will be held at The Ashton Place, 341 75th Street in Willowbrook, Illinois. With three more events to follow in Aug, Nov, and Dec 2008

"This is a wonderful way to raise an impressive sum of money for small not-for-profit companies that have little resources to do so." says McMahon. "We owe a lot to Chicago Charitable Games, will do all we can to make sure other arts organizations know about the service as well."

Chicago Charitable Games (CCG) was founded by Ken Kaulen, Jr. in 2007, and Chemically Imbalanced Comedy was one of its first partners. Since then, Kaulen and CCG have worked with many of Chicago's smaller and midsized theater companies, helping them to raise thousands of dollars. These companies include Open Eye, The Factory, Will Act for Food, Stage Left, Backstage Theater Company, WNEP, and Uma Productions, among others.

"When I first met Ken, he didn't know that theater companies were considered to be charity organizations. Now, over a year later, he almost exclusively raises money for arts organizations," McMahon said.

Chemically Imbalanced Comedy's first four CCG events, in March of 2007, helped them gain over $8,000. This funding was a major factor in assisting the Company to secure their own theater space on Irving Park Road in Chicago. The Chemically Imbalanced Theater opened in December 2007. Kaulen recently joined Chemically Imbalanced Comedy's Board of Directors, and is thrilled to continue to work with the company.
