Big Noise Theatre has just announced the cast for its upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz, part of its returning "Especially For Kids" program.

The Wizard of Oz, directed and choreographed by Jen Houghton, is led by Brittani Jones as Dorothy and features Aria Caldwell (Scarecrow/Hunk), Michael Ross (Tin Man/Hickory), Brent Walker (Lion/Zeke), Allison Kasbee (Glinda/Aunt Em), Pamela Anderson (Wicked Witch of the West/Miss Gulch), Mark Bjorkquist (Wizard of Oz/Professor Marvel/Uncle Henry), Krist Neumann (Toto), and an "ozsemble" of Shaina Summerville, Emma Widlowski, and Katie Zarletti.

The rest of the production team includes Nicholas Roman (Music Director), David Geinosky (Scenic Design), Martha Shuford (Producer/Costume Design), Debbie Szczesniak (Props Mistress/Stage Manager/Producer), and Daiva Paulis (Producer).

This classic tale, in which a Kansas girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of friendship and family, has been entertaining audiences for generations. Especially geared toward young audiences, this one-hour adaptation celebrates L. Frank Baum's timeless story and characters and the Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg music you know and love, but with Big Noise Theatre's own special twist.

The Wizard of Oz opens Saturday, January 13, 2018 and runs through January 28 at Prairie Lakes Theater, 515 E. Thacker Street in Des Plaines, IL. Performances are on Saturdays at 10am and 12pm, Sundays at 10am, with a special weekday presentation on Wednesday, January 24 at 10am. Tickets are $15 for all ages. Email info@bignoise.org about special rates for groups of 10 or more. For more information and to purchase tickets online, visit bignoise.org/wizardofoz.
