Blue Goose Theatre Ensemble will present SWEET SIXTEEN EXTRAVAGANZA!!!, devised by the ensemble under the direction of Co-Artistic Director Spencer Ryan Diedrick. The production will run February 23rd - March 5th, 2018 in The Frontier Space at 1106 W. Thorndale Ave., Chicago.
Harmony, a former star of the child beauty pageant circuit, celebrates her "coming-of-age" amid "loving" family and, uh, "friends." When a stranger arrives on the compound of her super-farmer father, the birthday girl is rocked by nightmarish visions, and her glitzy worldview is shaken to its rhinestone-studded core. SWEET SIXTEEN EXTRAVAGANZA!!! asks: when exploitation and empowerment look eerily similar, how old is too old to wear a tiara?
The cast features Blue Goose Theatre Ensemble company member Evan Cullinan as Patrick, the Guard. The cast also features Antora Delong (Harmony), Song Marshall (Cadence, the Sister), Amy Jean Johnson (Andrea, the Mama), Eric Duhon (Time, the Father Figure), Brandon Boler (Ian, the Intruder), Ryan Jendrycki (Vinny, the Admirer), and Amelia Bethel (TJ, the Other Guard). Maddie Sachs and Ashley Wisneski understudy.
The production team will include Sarai Moore (Stage Manager), Rachel Rauscher (Set and Props Designer), Savannah Cousins (Lighting Designer), company members Samantha Courter and Jessica Ervin (Costumes), Alyssa Kerr (Sound Designer) and Sarah Patin (Assistant Director).
Previews are Friday, February 23rd at 8pm and February 24th at 4pm. Opening Night is Saturday, February 25th at 8:00 p.m. at The Frontier, 1106 W Thorndale Ave, Chicago, IL 60660. Tickets are Pay-What-You-Can and available at bit.ly/SSEtix. The suggested price is $12.
Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 8pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 4pm, with a Monday night performance at 8pm on March 5th, 2018. There is no performance on March 2nd, 2018.
