Bailiwick Chicago & Teatro Luna Present NORTH AMERICA NOW, 9/7
Bailiwick Chicago and Teatro Luna present "North America Now," a cultural event focusing on the state of North America on the tenth Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Co-produced by Bailiwick Chicago Executive Director Brian LaDuca and Teatro Luna Executive Director Alex Meda, "North America Now" will explore the subject of North American borders through performances and visual art as well as a town hall panel discussion with local politicians, cultural leaders and artists on current border issues and concerns. The event, which begins at 7 p.m. with a cocktail hour, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at The Instituto Cervantes of Chicago, 31 W. Ohio Street. Tickets start at $30 and are available through www.bailiwickchicago.com or at www.brownpapertickets.com.
"At the center of this exciting event, we're asking the question: Ten years later, what do the 9/11 attacks mean not only to the US, but to our immediate connecting countries? It'stime to have a transnational discussion that focuses on issues affecting real people in real places, with an emphasis on acceptance and prosperity for the entire continent," says Bailiwick Chicago Executive Director Brian LaDuca.Bailiwick Chicago was formed by a group of dedicated actors, directors, and production professionals in September 2009.
