Eclipse Theatre Company, the only Midwest theatre company to feature one playwright in one season, will conclude their 2017 Kia Corthron Season this fall with a production of her 2000 play Breath, Boom, with Mignon McPherson Stewart directing.

In the play, Prix, the leader of a violent girls' gang, makes booms on the street and loves booms in the sky: fireworks. But her destructive workaday world is gradually turned upside down by actions of her mother and of her "sisters," and by confrontations with the consequences of her past. Breath, Boom was commissioned by The Royal Court Theatre in London, and Eclipse's cast and production team will be announced once confirmed.

Breath, Boom will run November 9 - December 10, 2017, and will conclude the 2017 Corthron Season, following the previously announced Force Continuum (April 13 - May 21, 2017) and Megastasis (July 13 - August 20, 2017).
