Artemisia, a Chicago Theatre that produces visionary, female-driven plays, is the proud recipient of a grant from the Arts Work Fund to create a new website. The Arts Work Fund for Organizational Development is a funder collaborative created to help strengthen the management and operations of small arts and cultural organizations in Chicago and Cook County. The Arts Work Fund fosters diversity and encourages investment in small arts and cultural organizations by the philanthropic community

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Artemisia and the timing couldn't be better," says Julie Proudfoot, Artemisia's Founder and Executive Artistic Director. The website announces the theatre's cutting-edge world premiere of Chewing On Beckett and Artemisia's dynamic and expanded 2016-2017 Theatre Season, featuring the annual Fall Festival, a world premiere chosen by the 2015 Fall Festival audience and a feminist adaptation of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. Kat Tushim, Artemisia's marketing consultant and creative director, and Renegade Websites have created a bold but elegant design with streamlined navigation and great ticketing and donation systems.

"I believe that empowerment is a shared value of the Arts Work Fund and Artemisia," says Proudfoot, "and their mission of diversity is truly reflected in supporting a Chicago theatre dedicated to women-driven stories." Artemisia produces in Edgewater, where the company has recently become a proud new member of the Edgewater Theatre District. Visit artemisiatheatre.org to learn more and get involved with this vibrant, emerging Chicago theatre dedicated to female-driven plays.
