ATC to Host LA Film Workshop with Casting Director Deb Dion, 6/8-6/15

The Actors Training Center (ATC) will present the Los Angeles Film Intensive Workshop with Casting Director Deborah Dion for 3rd graders through adults, June 8th through June 15th at The Wilmette Theatre, 1122 Central Ave. Deborah Dion has worked with acclaimed directors Tim Burton ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Alice in Wonderland"), PJ Hogan ("Peter Pan," "Unconditional Love"), Lasse Hallstrom ("Cider House Rules," "Chocolat," "The Shipping News," "An Unfinished Life"), John Madden ("Shakespeare in Love"), and M. Night Shyamalan ("The Last Airbender," "The Happening," "Lady in the Water").

"Teaching at ATC is literally the highlight of my summer. I am always impressed by the quality of the programs, the teachers, and the students at ATC and enjoy coming back every summer," said Dion. "As a long time teacher and casting director, I love sharing my knowledge of the audition experience, the casting room, and the skills that it takes to work in the industry. Many of my students immediately start booking the roles they desire after these intensives, but most importantly everyone grows as an actor and an artist."

Each year, Dion flies into Chicago to offer this annual workshop at ATC. She personally picks out multiple, personalized scripts for each student to learn and gets students in only a couple of hours to dive headfirst into their scene work and grow as actors. This efficient and focused workshop is for the actor ready to take their on-camera audition and acting skills to a new level. Dion's exclusive film intensive program expects each actor to prepare as thoroughly as a working professional actor with assigned film scripts.

The workshop schedule is as follows:
• ADULTS: Sunday, June 8th & Monday, June 9th, 6pm-10pm, $525
• 3RD -5TH GRADE: Wednesday, June 11th & Friday, June 13, 4:30pm-7:30pm, $400
• 6TH-8TH GRADE: Tuesday, June 10th & Thursday June 12th, 4:30pm-8:30pm, $525
• 9TH-12TH GRADE: Saturday, June 14th & Sunday, June 15th, 2pm-6pm, $525
