AGM Concerts Inc Presents SALUTE TO VIENNA 1/3/2010

By:

AGM Concerts Inc. proudly present Salute to Vienna, for one performance only, Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. in Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Ave. The performance combines the brilliant talents of The Strauss Symphony of America with stellar European maestros, tenors, sopranos and dancers to perform and celebrate the glorious, uplifting music of Vienna's "Waltz King" Johann Strauss Jr. and his contemporaries. Salute to Vienna is reminiscent of Vienna's famous and beloved NEUJAHRSKONZERT, the 70 year old tradition performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and televised annually to 1.3 billion people around the globe. Featuring a cast of more than 75 musicians, singers and dancers, the new 2010 program highlights will still include the ever popular operetta excerpts, waltzes, polkas and marches.

The 2010 international cast includes: Austrian conductor, Hans Richter, making his Salute to Vienna debut at Orchestra Hall, Hungarian soprano, Anita Lukács, Hungarian tenor, Zsolt Vadász and six members of the acclaimed Vienna City Ballet. Ticket prices are as low as $27 and are now on sale at 312.294.3000 or online at www.cso.org.

Guided by their own musical passion and commitment to artistic excellence and authenticity, producers Attila and Marion Glatz travel several times each year to Vienna, "City of Dreams" and other major cultural centers around the world to carefully select some of the most dynamic talent from Europe's best opera houses and concert halls. Each international cast of maestros, singers and dancers is backed by a full symphony orchestra, and performs the glorious Viennese music, song and dance in dazzling splendor.

Encouraged by their initial success at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall in 1995, the Glatzes debuted Salute to Vienna to U.S. audiences the following year and sold-out New York City's Lincoln Center. The rest is Salute to Vienna history! Attila and Marion Glatz steadily expanded their renowned production to include North America's most prestigious, major cultural centers. Now, each year more than 50,000 people can experience a live, festive NEUJAHRSKONZERT without the expense of traveling to Vienna. For their achievements and for promoting Vienna on numerous world stages, Attila and Marion Glatz were awarded the Austrian Government's prestigious "Decoration of Merit in Gold."

Salute to Vienna is now one of North America's favorite New Year's traditions. What Nutcracker means to Christmas, Salute to Vienna means to the New Year!
