3 Squares Productions Opens LIPSTICK GOES ON LAST, 5/25
3 Squares Productions, LLC, will be presenting their first play, the World Premiere comedy "Lipstick Goes On Last," written by Cheryl Thomas and Gary Malinowski, and directed by Jeff Award-winning David Zak, at the Den Theater through June 23rd. Performances begin on Saturday, May 25th.
Meredith (Kathleen Lawlor), a former community teen pageant winner, struggles with aging, alcoholism, a defiant daughter, a philandering husband, and her high school nemesis, now a Girl Scout Leader From Hell with her own problematic family. Her best friend Rita (Ashley J. Dearborn) struggles with overeating, a still-in-the-closet husband (Richard Pryor, Jr.), and her feuding friends. This is a fierce farce about alternative relationships, family, and friends, full of late '70's style and music. And cookies.
The cast includes Kathleen Lawlor, Ashley J. Dearborn, Annamarie Schutt, Suzy Brack, Aniyah McCullum, Ben Nicholson, Bobbie O'Connor, Sandy Gulliver, and his in Chicago stage debut, Richard Pryor, Jr., son of the late classic comedian. A full EPK or individual bios with headshots are available upon request.
General admission tickets priced at $30 for the 60-seat theater are available online in advance through Brown Paper Tickets, as are half-priced tickets for groups of ten or more.
A special public event with Richard Pryor, Jr. will be announced next week.
