The Lion in Winter tells the story of King Henry II who has three sons: Richard the Lionhearted, Geoffrey and John. He wants the kingdom to stay united after his death, but all three sons want to rule. The King favors John, while his Queen, Eleanor of Aquitaine, favors Richard. The middle son, Geoffrey, hopes to play both ends against each other and come out on top. Uneasy is the head on which the crown lies, and uneasy the truce between a matchless king and queen. The basis of the Oscar-winning film which starred Peter O'Toole and Katharine Hepburn and a television version starring Patrick Stewart and Glenn Close, The New York Times called The Lion in Winter, "a work of intelligence, astringent wit and much theatrical skill."

CPCC Opera Theatre Presents Opening Production

The Holiday Season will be here before you know it. What better way to begin it than to bring your whole family to see a true holiday pleaser, Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. This may be a children's fairytale, but it is an enchanting opera that thrills both the young and old. CPCC Opera Theatre will present this classic (in English) on November 19, 20 and 21 (the weekend before Thanksgiving).

Call the SunTrust Box Office at 704.330.6534 for tickets.
