Auditions For Piedmont Players Production Lunch At The Piccadilly

Piedmont Players Theatre is holding open auditions for the Main Stage production of Lunch at the Piccadilly, a musical based on the novel by Clyde Edgerton with music and lyrics by Mike Craver and additional lyrics and music by Clyde Edgerton and developed by Steve Umberger. This production will be directed by Reid Leonard.

This wise, warm, and hilarious show is out to change the world-one rocking chair at a time. Unable to keep up with the times, the Rosehaven retirement home is being sold to Ballard College. Nothing is supposed to change, but the residents have already noticed a difference in the cornbread. It's not looking good. But newcomer Lil Olive brings a revolutionary new idea to get the residents out of their rockers. The quirky, indomitable senior citizens find some surprising solutions to their problems in this unpredictable new show that has been called "silly and soulful."

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, December 11 at 7pm and again on Wednesday, December 12 at 7pm at the Meroney Theatre on the 3rd floor, 213 South Main Street in downtown Salisbury. Prepare 16-bars of a song of your choosing. Bring the sheet music, marked and notated in the correct key for your voice range. An accompanist will be provided. In addition there will be cold readings from the script. Rehearsals will begin in mid-December. Rehearsals typically run Monday-Friday 7-10pm. Production dates are January 31 through February 9, 2019.

All roles are open and Piedmont Players encourages actors of all ethnic and racial backgrounds to audition. Please bring a resume and list of conflicts.
