The Guys by Ann Nelson at Lebanon Community Theatre

Lebanon Community Theatre is pleased to host The Guys, a play by award-winning journalist Ann Nelson, as a fundraiser for Lebanon County First Responders Memorial. Running for a pair of performances this August 23 and 25, this moving play heralds the sacrifice of New York firefighters lost on September 11, 2001 by telling the stories of both the fallen and the struggle of those left to remember them.

Based on Nelson’s own experiences, The Guys is set in a household kitchen and dramatizes the meeting between a grieving fire captain and a journalist as they craft eulogies for Brooklyn firefighters lost in the twin towers on 9/11. Their conversation memorializes those lost, reveals much about firehouse life, and leads to both personal discoveries and a measure of community healing.

The Guys is directed by Jeremiah Miller. Concessions will be available, and veteran Lebanon County First Responders will be on hand to tell stories and honor local heroes lost in the line of duty.

LCT will host two performances:

• Friday, August 23, 7 pm
• Sunday, August 25, 2 pm

Lebanon County First Responders Memorial provides funds and assistance to families of first responders harmed in the line of duty. LCFRM is currently developing a memorial site at the new Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services Complex at 1805 Cornwall Road, Lebanon.
