The Ware Center Packs First Friday with ROCKSHOW Screening and Cat Show, 7/5

On Friday, July 5, 2013 The Ware Center will host the Exhibit DEPAUL/DEPAUL: A COLLABORATION IN ART & LIFE, THE CAT SHOW, music by Second Hand Suits and a hands-on drum event sponsored by Earth Rhythms. All these events take place between 6 - 8 p.m. and admission will be free. At 8 p.m. there will be a special screening of the high-definition, surround sound screening of Paul McCartney and Wing's high-energy ROCKSHOW.

Kim and Tom DePaul have a passion for the arts. Kim returned to grad school for a degree in Photography while Tom revisited his love for oil painting as their passions combined into something more. This Exhibit focuses on incorporating art into the flow of life. Both artists will be on hand First Friday to discuss their philosophies and work. The exhibit will run till July 30th at the Ware Center.

The Ware Center presents THE CAT SHOW, a celebrity cat meet and greet! Come meet award-winning show cats and their owners. With 11 breeds participating in the event, many of these are rarely seen by the general public. Select cats in the Meet and Greet have won International and Mid-Atlantic Awards for both kitten and adult cat. The breeds represented include: Abyssinian, Ocicat, Longhair munchkin, Longhair Bengal, and many more. If you are an admirer of cats both young and old, come to The Ware Center for a night to learn more about our feline friends! Also, check out the cats available for adoption from the Lancaster Humane League.

Second Hand Suits is a blue, folk, rock fusion band from Lancaster PA. The Suits provide a classic and lively feel to their music. Some of their influences include Fats Waller, Muddy Waters, Django Reinhardt, Rihanna, and Ryan Adams. Performing standards from every decade from the 1920's to the 70's, Second Hand suits will bring a fresh take to the classic sound that we all know and love!

Earth Rhythms is a Reading-based store which specializes in all types of percussion instruments from around the world. Whether it's African Djembe Drums or Tongue Tone Drums, you and your kids will have a ball trying out the various instruments - each with their own unique sound. The owner, Lisa Fairman, will be on hand to instruct and guide all players.

At 8 PM, The Ware Center Film Series proudly presents a one-time only showing of Paul McCartney and Wing's ROCKSHOW, a concert filmed in high-definition, sound surround. It's better than actually being there. In 1975 and 1976 Paul McCartney and Wings undertook the epic Wings over the World tour, the largest scale tour they would ever undertake as a band. From this tour came both the legendary WINGS OVER AMERICA triple live album and the concert film ROCKSHOW. Now for the first time the complete full length concert is being made available fully restored from the original 35mm film and with restored & remastered sound, including a 5.1 mix for the first time. This is Paul McCartney and Wings live on stage in a concert that is destined to live forever! Tickets are $7 with a discounted price of $5 for seniors and students. They will be available on-site, one hour prior to the performance.
