The Reading Theater to Present THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST
The Reading Theater Project presents Oscar Wilde's timeless comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest. Performances will take place at the WCR Center for the Arts at 140 North Fifth Street in Reading. November 5th is a pay what you will preview. Opening night is November 6, 2015, at 8pm, and the play runs through November 15, 2015.
The Reading Theater Project's mission is to create new theater inspired by Reading and greater Berks County. Under the careful direction of Joel Richard Gori, RTP's production of The Importance of Being Earnest will, "explore Oscar Wilde's characters as they transcend time, tip-toeing across different eras of history, and examine how his characters are still relevant today."
The production boasts a cast of regional professional actors hailing from across the country, from San Francisco to Philadelphia, including: Yasiris Alvarado, Josh Arnolde, Kate Brickley, Joel Lesher, Britton Hubbard, Lily Ogelsby, Christopher David Roché, Julia Smith, Amy Young, and Lauren Zehr. The production also features an outstanding production team where Joel Richard Gori directs, Jane Ney stage manages, Kathie Kustudich designs props, Rebeka Schaeffer-Birch costumes, Craig Dodge designs lights, and Andrew Pochan scenic designs.
Reading Theater Project is supported by the Berks Arts Council, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and West Reading Tavern, as well as other local businesses.
