Hershey Area Playhouse is proud to present the second production of its 2017 season, Rabbit Hole, a story that delves into the complexity of a family navigating deep grief, and learning what it means to live a fruitful life when things fall apart.

Rabbit Hole is a deep and well-written drama about an upper middle class couple who experience a tragedy that turns them upside down. Both fight to gain back the relationship they once had as they try to move their lives forward. Written by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by Lewis Silverman, Rabbit Hole deals with a very real and agonizing situation with thoughtful, powerful, and sometimes funny language and emotions.

"This is a play with an extremely difficult and quite painful subject matter," said Silverman. "Anyone who has been touched by the passing of a loved one - a friend, neighbor, colleague or family member - will feel the emotions and be touched by the words, actions and deeds of the characters. I hope audiences take away the message that "while nothing is exempt from change, if you are able to feel even grief you are still alive."

Bringing this story to life, the cast members of Rabbit Hole include: Samuel Eisenhuth as Howie; Renee Howard as Becca; Jeremiah Joel as Jason; Michele McErlean as Nat; Shelby Snyder as Izzy; and Michael Thompson as Danny.

In addition to Silverman, production staff members for Rabbit Hold include: Wendy Lubell, producer; Richard Foster, stage manager; Daniel Bixler, lighting designer; Carlton Hoke and Jeff Miller, set design and construction; Linda Pagliarulo, costumer; Renee Howard as props mistress; and Robyn Swayne as technical coordinator.

Experience the powerful and thought-provoking story of Rabbit Hole, running April 20-23 and April 27-30, 2017. Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for teens/adults and $17 for those ages 12 and under. Tickets are available by visiting www.HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com or by calling The Playhouse's box office at 717-533-8525. Please note: This production may not be appropriate for children.
