Hershey Symphony To Present Annual  Salute To America With Free Concert On Lawn Of Hershey Medical Center The Hershey Symphony Orchestra invites the community to celebrate Independence Day one day early with the 15th annual free concert on the lawn of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The orchestra's performance on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, entitled, "An American Salute" begins at 7:30 p.m. In case of rain, the concert will be scheduled for the following evening.

Complimentary water and ice cream will be provided by the Medical Center. Food and drink for purchase will be offered by food trucks parked along the perimeter of the crowd.

"It is a holiday tradition for our musicians and our fans to celebrate the birth of our country with this annual concert on the lawn of the Medical Center. We've decided to perform on July 3rd again this year to allow our audience a chance to sleep in and enjoy the next day, as opposed to having to get up early for work." said Hershey Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Paul Metzger.

The first half of the concert will feature popular movie themes from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean and more. For the second half of the concert, the Orchestra will present "An American Salute" accompanied by Hershey Symphony Orchestra vocalists as they celebrate America and provide a special tribute to the military.

The concert is under the direction of Bob Sproul and is sponsored by Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, The Hershey Lodge, Sutliff Chevrolet, Fillson Water, Swiss Premium, Hershey Ice Cream, and Hershey Symphony Orchestra. Parking is free and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Orchestra.
