Gretna Theatre And Hershey Offer An Unforgettable Kids Series

Watch your favorite stories come to life onstage through Gretna Theatre Kids Series. Plus, every kid who attends a kids series show will receive a sweet treat provided by The Hershey Company! Celebrated for its commitment to encouraging parents (and grandparents) to read and learn with their kids, the season features three great musicals based on popular children's stories. These hour-long musicals deliver real-life lessons in a welcoming, kid-friendly environment that's both creative and affordable. They're written especially for kids in grades K-6 and their grown-up friends.

Our first show based on the Emmy Award-winning cartoon series, Schoolhouse Rock!, gives kids a chance to see how fun learning can be through creativity and music. Featuring favorite songs such as "Conjunction Junction", "I'm Just a Bill", and "Interplanet Janet." Running Saturday, June 23rd at 11:00 am only at Gretna Theatre. The second Kids Series show is a take on Cinderella unlike you've ever seen before. If the Shoe Fits, Buy It!, encourages kids to follow their own dreams through Cinderella's story as a sales person for the Castle Shopping Network; where her stepmother is the CEO. As she tries to save her career, she finds love and realizes she can have it all while making her dreams come true. This fresh take on the beloved Cinderella story is on stage at Gretna Theatre Saturday, June 21 at 11am. You'll have to come see for yourself if the shoe fits!

Rounding out this exciting 2018 kids series is Art Dog, based on the cherished children's book by Thacher Hurd. Art Dog is a mild-mannered museum guard by day and a mysterious artist who makes the city his canvas by night. However, when Leonardo Dog Vinci's Mona Woofa goes missing from the Dogopolis Museum of Art, Art Dog is a prime suspect. This incredible book will jump off the page as Art Dog finds the real thief. Art Dog Runs Saturday, August 4th at 11am only at Gretna Theatre. Our young theatre goers will surely give this show 2 paws up.

The company appearing in all three productions are made up of all local Central Pennsylvania young actors: Kayla Klase, Kathryn Pedersen, Lauren Ritter, Ryan Cassidy, Matthew Romain, Peter John Witkowski and stage managed by Christopher Brian and Liz Vinarski. Music Direction provided by M. Ellen Carnahan, and choreographed by Mia VeraCruz.
