When a mysterious disease begins to claim the lives of billions of people, a group of working-class patrons gather at their local watering hole to decide how best to tackle this nuisance. Salvation comes in the form of a travelling salesman, who claims to be God and offers the bartender immortality if he will write a new Bible … and get it right this time!

“Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar & Grille”, is an apocalyptic comedy written by Bruce Graham, and co-directed by David and Pamela Hurlbert. Appearing in this production by Gettysburg Stage are: Ryyn Curry, David Hurlbert, Jeff Leinbach, Ken Pierson, Hilary Snesrud, Skip Tananis and Buff Wills.

“’Rainbow’ is the funniest play you’ll ever see about the end of the world,” says co-director David Hurlbert. “The last five survivors of a silent apocalypse are each coping with impending doom in their own way. And of course, the point at which these efforts collide is where the laughs begin. But don't despair, hope will make an appearance in the second act to help sort it all out.”

“Our cast, all of whom are individually experience, have in whole or part, shared a stage several times over the years. This blend of talent and chemistry adds another dimension to an already delightful play. ‘Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar & Grille’ will be an evening well spent.”

Co-Director Pamela Hurlbert adds, “I have worked with every member of this cast before, and am so pleased to direct them once again. The cast works so well that I know we are all sharing the same vision.
