This October we honor our Cavod Theatre founder, Stan Deen, with one of his favorite productions, Driving Miss Daisy.

This Pulitzer Prize winning play is a warm-hearted and humorous story of the unlikely friendship between Daisy, an aging and independent white Southern widow, and Hoke, a proud and soft-spoKen Black chauffeur. Daisy is determined to maintain her independence. However, when she crashes her car, her son, Boolie, arranges for her to have a chauffeur, Hoke Colburn. Daisy and Hoke's relationship gets off to a rough start, but they gradually form a close friendship over many years, and learn to see past racial prejudices and social conventions.

Directed by Sydney Leigh Allen, in honor of Stan Deen, the show features: Daisy - Donna Schilke; Hoke - Michael Truitt; and Boolie - Caleb Heckman.
