The Ware Center invites you to participate in their monthly First Friday events from 6-8 PM. Friday, July 3, will be filled with exotic cats, artwork by a Millersville University alumni, and music by a vocal powerhouse. The events are free and open to the public (No tickets required). The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster PA 17603.

The exotic cat show is a sneak peak of cats and kittens that will compete for points and titles at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Awards show on August 22-23, 2015 2015 at the Lancaster Host Resort & Conference Center sponsored by the Karousel Kats club. Come meet some of our award winning cats and new stars on the horizon. The cats that will be participating in the sneak peek event include the regal Abyssinian that looks like a small mountain lion or cougar; the lucky cat of Japan, the Japanese bobtail whose tail consists of a variety of kinks and curves creating a pom-pom effect; the American Bobtail, a cat reminiscent of the wild cats with a distinctly shortened tail; the talkative, active and finely chiseled Oriental Shorthair and last but not least the glamorous Persian with its long flowing coat that evokes images of distant historical Persia and Turkey.

The participants will also include Chase, Bear and Achilles who are certified therapy cats. These special felines visit nursing homes to help cheer the residents. Achilles serves as a greeter at many cat show events by sitting at the entry door and offering up free pets and kisses as spectators enter to see the show.

Ellen Slupe, a Millersville Alumni, will be exhibiting for show Painting Plus. This assembled accretion of matter adjacent or attached to paintings purposefully hammers away the boundaries of traditional art forms. This Paintings Plus series of mini installations is designed not to question traditional pictorial space as much as to stretch it open for new directions and discussion. Visitors will be able to view the art exhibit to 9 pm on First Friday. Her exhibition will remain on display through the month of July.

Canyon. is known by those that have seen her perform to be a captivating singer/songwriter performing with just an acoustic guitar. Canyon. is poised to make her mark on the Folk genre by re-defining what modern Folk means and finally letting her voice be heard. The First Friday Music Stage is sponsored by Fine Living Magazine.
