Masquerade at Green Space

Azul Dance Theatre is thrilled to premiere, Masquerade, at Green Space (37-24 24th St. suite 211, Long Island City, NY 11101) on Friday, April 5th and Saturday 6th at 8pm. This contemporary dance will be performed by the company members, Femke Aaldering, Emma Colton, Sejeong Kim, Akane Koizumi, Jaime Shannon, Tsuyoshi Watanabe, Kanako Yokota. The music credits include Armand Amar, Clinton Shorter, Kryptic Minds, Icicle, Flying Lotus, Zoe, Keating, and Rumi Ged. Choreography by Yuki Hasegawa. Costumes by Angelia Lin.Greed sometimes disturb lifes true desire and blinds our minds. Utilizing a treasure box as a key element, Masquerade conveys how ironic human behaviors disrupt how we achieve our most secret desire.An Artistic Director /Choreographer Yuki Hasegawa has been collaborated with the dancers to create and develop this work since 2017. The masquerade attires are designed and created by Angelia Lin for this premiere. This production is made possible in part supported by the Queens Council on the Arts with Public Funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and Mertz Gilmore Late-stgae Stipend facilitated by Green Space.
