VIETNAM...THROUGH MY LENS Set for Chenango River Theatre Next Month

By:
Vietnam...through my lens is Stu Richel's critically praised, poignant and thought-provoking new play that explores his journey as a combat journalist and photographer to, through and beyond his military service in Vietnam. It's one soldier's intimately personal and unique tale about friendship, trust, and tenacity that travels from the jungles of South East Asia to the "jungle" of Manhattan. The show includes projections of Stu's work as a combat photographer. For more, visit www.vietnamthroughmylens.com.

Stu has researched, wrote and toured three other solo stage shows: Mortal Decisions, a Diary of the Donner Party; Theodore Judah and the Transcontinental Railroad; and Everyone's War. He has written a handful of full length plays - two of them, The Same Cloud and The Bugs Don't Call Me Nigger, were produced by Northside Theatre Company, in San Jose, California.

Stu has had principal roles in about a dozen TV shows, including 30 Rock (Alec Baldwin's boss,) Billions (with Damian Lewis and Eric Begosian,) The Get Down (with Giancarlo Esposito,) One Life to Live, (fire chief,) Michael and Michael Have Issues and As the World Turns.

He has appeared in dozens of plays Off Broadway, Off Off Broadway and in regional theatres. Regional appearances include Proof (Redhouse, Syracuse), Twilight of the Golds (Shadowland Theatre), Holiday (San Jose Rep), State of the Union (J City Theatre, Jersey City), Mortal Decisions, A Diary of the Donner Party (Depot Theatre, Westport, NY) and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (San Jose Stage.) Some of his NYC appearances include roles in The Lower Depths, The Philanderer, Summer and Smoke, Bag Fulla Money, The Substance of John, Autoeroticism in Detroit , Slaughter Cit, The Merry Wives of Windsor, American Soldiers, The Detour and Barrier Island.
