Skidmore College Theater Stages AMERICAN COLLISION(S), Now thru 10/18

By:

The Skidmore College Department of Theater has announced its Fall 2013 production, AMERICAN COLLISION(S). This production is a devised piece directed by Carolyn Anderson. Performances are tonight, October 16-18, 2013. All shows are in the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery on the Skidmore College campus at 7:00pm and 9:00pm

AMERICAN COLLISION(S) is a site-specific interactive performance piece, which responds to the exhibit in the Frances Young TANG teaching museum, "The Classless Society." Actors and audience will physically move through themes of economics, race, class distinction, and ethnicity...what is the American Dream today?

From Director Caroyln Anderson: "Creating work in the TANG is inspiring, and at the same time perplexing...one is always challenged to dig deeper."

Free admission but reservations are a must, as seating is very limited! Call the Skidmore Theater Box Office at (518) 580-5439 or email boxoffice@skidmore.edu for reservations.

About The Skidmore College Department of Theater: The Skidmore Theater Department is a pre-professional program that offers students the opportunity to pursue the serious study of the theater arts within a liberal arts setting. Courses within the department afford training in the basic demands of the discipline-physical and vocal control, technique in acting and directing, technical and design skills-as well as the opportunity for advanced study, practical production experience, study abroad, and off- campus internships. The college liberal arts requirements help the student to understand the moral, intellectual, and political context in which any artist practices.

The show will run October 16-18 at 7:00pm and 9:00pm, presented in the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery, Skidmore College, 815 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. For reservations or information, call the Skidmore Theater Box Office at (518) 580-5439 or email boxoffice@skidmore.edu.
