Photo Flash: First Look at WPPAC's DOGFIGHT

A First look at the The New York regional premiere of Dogfight which opens this weekend at the White Plains Performing Arts Centerfollowing a recent run Off Broadway. Dogfight is a new musical written by TONY Nominees Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (A Christmas Story) with a book by Peter Duchan -- based on the blockbuster 1991 Warner Bros. film starring River Phoenix and Lili Taylor; screenplay written by Bob Comfort.

On November 21, 1963, a group of young marines are gathered in San Fransisco the night before they ship off to Vietnam. They decide to celebrate their last night of freedom with a cruel game they call a "dogfight" where every man sets out to find the ugliest girl he can and brings her to a party. Everyone puts in money, and the man with the ugliest date wins the pot. When Eddie Birdlace, meets idealistic waitress Rose Fenny in a diner, she changes the rules of the game and teaches him the power of compassion.

The cast features the talents of Chelsey Lynn Alfredo, Erica Ackerman, David Cronin, Matt DaSilva, Veronica Decker, Elizabeth Doyle, Colin Earyes, Natalia Fogarty, Gina Gentile, Douglas "Katch" Gray, John Hannigan, Tyler Henson, Carolina Jarufe, Steven Liberto, Peter McClung, Sarah Paige Morris, Paulette Oliva, Stephanie Savino, Alexandra Schwartz, Dustin Smith and Shawn Smith.

The production is directed by Frank Portanova (WPPAC's Disney's On the Record) with music direction by Stephen Ferri and choreography by Lexie Fennell Frare both of (WPPAC's Les Miserables, Disney's On the Record, Spring Awakening, Bare).

Dogfight performs at the White Plains Performing Arts Center September 19 & 20th at 8pm and September 21 at 2pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students 22 & under. All performances are at the White Plains theatre, located on the third level of City Center off Mamaroneck Avenue in downtown White Plains.
