Suburbia: the final frontier. An unexplored wilderness where floating dinner parties belie the seething bloodlust of its primitive inhabitants. Cautiously they emerge at dusk from their SUVs, huddling in small packs over steaming hunks of smoked meat. After feeding, the males and females self-segregate for drinks and haphazard infighting to re-litigate the pecking order. Surprisingly, the body count at most of these social gatherings generally remains low, despite the flinging of mud, the baring of fangs and the occasional brandishing of firearms.

The Smell of the Kill is the story of three upscale suburban wives (and their unseen husbands). The three women have socialized at rotating monthly dinners, always in celebration of their husbands' monthly golf game with each other.

Author Michelle Lowe's monthly dinner recipe includes three delicious, malicious wives, three unlovable husbands, and a newly installed meat locker in the basement. It's a show that had Broadway audiences laughing and cheering. The Smell of the Kill revolves around Nicky, Debra and Molly, wives and marginal friends who have tolerated one another over the years for the sake of their husband's friendship.

Nicky is married to an embezzler and is ready to kill for money. Molly is married to a stalker and is ready to kill for more sex. Debra is married to an adulterer and is just ready to kill.

While their unseen spouses practice putting in the dining room, the women exchange confidences for the first time, revealing chinks in all three marriages. When a completely unlikely opportunity presents itself, and gives them an opportunity to escape their marriages, one by one the women make their choices with more than a little help from one another.

Binghamton's own Heidi Weeks plays Nicky, whose husband has just been charged with embezzling $7 million dollars, and celebrated by going out and spending $8,000 on a meat locker for his hunting kills. Kathleen Clancy plays the seemingly innocent Molly, who just happens to think she needs a little more sex in her life than her "wonderful" husband is providing. Suzanne Kimball is the prim Debra, the perfect housewife with the perfect husband, perfecT Loving son, and perfect house, except maybe not all that is quite true.

If you were a fan of Desperate Housewives on television, you'll love this show.
