Lagond Music Opens Its Doors To The Community With Adult Jam Sessions For Musicians
Lagond Music School extends its reach beyond its student body and into the local music community by providing weekly adultjam nights and a place for musicians to congregate. The highly accredited, not-for-profit academy, well-known for its dedication to music education and nurturing an innovative and dynamic approach to performance, welcomes practicing and professional musicians of every skill level to bring their instruments and participate in these ongoing interactive sessions.
The jam sessions take place Sunday nights at Lagond's Live! at the haven (9 Haven Street, Elmsford NY), a rehearsal and performance space featuring two fully-equipped professional sound stages located on the main floor of Lagond Studios. Each week spotlights a different genre and well-known guest musicians. Anyone with a desire to play - 18+ over - can join the jam on stage and sit in with peers as well as have an opportunity to meet and play with professional musicians.
Adult players of all levels are welcome as well as spectators. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Musicians are brought up on a first come first serve basis.

"These weekly jam nights are a perfect way for local musicians to congregate, meet other musicians and share a musical bond," Musical Director Charlie Lagond points out. "Our goal is to cultivate a musical haven for anyone who wants to express their love for music and their dedication to furthering their skills."
"The music community is diverse and thriving here in Westchester and surrounding counties." Executive Director and co-founder Rosanne Lana notes. "It's only natural then that we open our doors not only to students, but also to local musicians and other music enthusiasts who would like to take advantage of this wonderful facility and use it as a resource."
Since its founding in 2002, Lagond has become one of the nation's most successful college preparatory programs for music in the entire country, offering students the training, guidance and rigorous instruction needed to prepare them for their college studies and for rewarding careers in music and entertainment. The academy's curriculum spans all contemporary musical genres and includes courses in popular music songwriting, composition, theory, jazz and contemporary performance, production and engineering. Although highly competitive, the school welcomes students as young as six with after-school study to help formulate self-discovery and fun through the school's innovative and inspirational approach. With training provided by an experienced faculty and visiting guest artists, Lagond students have achieved success in national competitions and have gone on to gain acceptance and scholarships from the most prestigious music colleges and ivy league universities in the country.
