Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown Presents Magic and Mystery with MYSTERIES OF THE MIND

By:
Cortland Repertory Theatre prepares audience members to be astonished with mentalist and magician Paul Draper in his unique and fascinating show MYSTERIES OF THE MIND on Saturday, February 18 at 7:30. Direct from his popular act in Las Vegas, this interactive and family friendly evening of entertainment weaves mind reading, mystery and storytelling into a theatrical journey through time. Draper is a well known and respected anthropologist, magician and mentalist who has travelled the world in search of magic and mysteries. He reaches into minds, tells what people are thinking and predicts a person's actions before they make them. From his research as an anthropologist, he relates entertaining stories about ancient men and women of mystery who created stunning feats of the mind that are then recreated before your eyes.

As an expert in his field, Draper has appeared on several TV networks, including the History Channel, A&E, HBO, Hallmark, Travel Channel, and HGTV. Some of his recent TV appearances include Hell's Kitchen, Pawn Stars, Ghost Adventures, Mindfreak, and House Hunters. He has also been featured in articles for numerous publications, including Psychology Today, Glamour, Parade, Becker's Hospitals Review, AskMen.com, Disney's Family Fun Magazine, and many guest contributions for the Associated Press and AOL News. An in-demand lecturer, he has spoken at Yale University, Apple Cupertino Headquarters, The World Famous Magic Castle in Hollywood and The Magic Circle in London. As a respected Las Vegas entertainer, Paul has performed in Applause at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino and hundreds of shows at the Venetian Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Based on his show Mysteries of the Mind, he was chosen as the 2014 Merlin Award winner for Best Corporate Performer by the International Magician's Society.

In addition to his corporate shows and lectures, Draper is frequently called upon as an expert in fields ranging from magical history to human consciousness. As an anthropologist and member of the Society for the Anthropology of Consciousness, he pursues studies with Native American ghost dancers, South American cannibals, and spiritualists. This one-of-a-kind performance comes to Cortland for one night only, and is not to be missed!

Tickets for Mysteries of the Mind are $25.00 per person, and are available by calling the CRT Box Office at 800-427-6160, online at www.cortlandrep.org or by visiting Cortland Rep Downtown at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Box Office hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 4:00.
