CRT Downtown Presents THE STORY OF EBENEZER SCROOGE
Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown invites children of all ages to celebrate the holiday season with a special "one performance only" of THE STORY OF EBENEZER SCROOGE on Saturday, December 10 at 2:00 PM. This production, aimed primarily for children, will be held at CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson Street in historic downtown Cortland. Admission is $7.00 per person. The Traveling Lantern Theatre Company will perform this funny and interactive interpretation of the popular Christmas story. Charles Dickens' classic tale is re-imagined with just two actors and participation by the children in the audience.
Ebenezer Scrooge is a nasty, mean and snarling old geezer, with no care for anything other than his money. His only friend visits him as a ghost, starting him on a journey that melts his icy heart and teaches him the joys of caring for others. Seating will be "picnic style" on carpet, donated by 1st Class Tile and Flooring and R H Osborne World of Floor Covering, with the actors performing in and around the audience. This new and imaginative retelling of the Dickens story is a wonderful way to deliver the true holiday spirit message!
Tickets are available for purchase online at www.cortlandrep.org, by calling 800-427-6160 or by visiting CRT Downtown during business hours: Monday - Friday from 9:00 - 4:00. Tickets will also be available the day of performance starting at noon.
