A dedication to your craft is essential for success. Ludwig van Beethoven epitomized dedication; he composed thirty-three variations on a single theme he found by an unknown composer. Often times, the people who spend their lives researching the arts are just as dedicated. In his new play, 33 Variations, Moisés Kaufman explores the creative process between Beethoven's Diabelli Variations and of the journey taken by present day musicologist Katherine Brandt. Their lives are tied together by Beethoven's growing deafness and Katherine's progression of ALS. Even though they are separated by nearly two centuries, the two creative individuals share an intrinsic love of art and exploration.

Of the production, Artistic Director John Haldoupis states, "I am delighted to be directing one of Rochester's finest Actresses , Patricia Lewis in the powerful play with music. It is no surprise that Jane Fonda decided to make her return to the Broadway boards in this epic story of passion , commitment and evaluating one's life's work."

Directed by Blackfriars Artistic Director John Haldoupis, the cast includes Patricia Lewis as Katherine Brandt, Ross Amstey as Beethoven, Ruth Bellavia as Clara, Adam Petzold as Mike, Terry Browne as Duncan, Jeff Siuda as Schindler and Vicki Casarett as Gertie.
