Blackfriars Theatre, a not-for-profit mid -sized professional theatre on Rochester's "Theatre Row," brings back, for the third and final year "The Santaland Diaries," a comedy by nationally acclaimed author David Sedaris (adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello).
A delightfully thorny tale of working as Yuletide elf at Macy's. This holiday merriment by NPR favorite and best selling author David Sedaris tells of a slackers life as he takes out his frustrations on children and parents alike. The piece ends with yet another "Santa" being ushered to the throne, but unlike the lecherous or drunken others who have taken the seat, this one genuinely seems to care about the children, startling our hero into an uncharacteristic moment of holiday cheer. Hysterical satirical wit and good will prevail. (Note: This show contains adult language and situations. Parents are strongly cautioned against bringing young children to this production.)This is your last chance to catch David Jason Kyle in the role that has won him laughs and acclaim."THE SANTALAND DIARIES" is directed and designed by John Haldoupis. Sound design is by Ron Heerkins Jr., and lighting design is by Ted Plant.Videos
