Peter Pan is a classic story I venture to think most people know: the story of three siblings whisked off to Neverland by a boy who won’t grow up, where they have adventures and fight pirates. The Disney version is the most famous, but the stage version has been performed for decades. A new national tour embarked last year and has finally come to Louisville.

1660 Vine is an ensemble tale that follows a group of influencers as they take up residence in a famed Hollywood apartment building to pursue their dreams of social media stardom. With an original script and score written by a diverse group of young songwriters bringing their own authentic life experiences into the show, the various characters of 1660 Vine confront questions of fame, influence, identity, and mental health.

1660 Vine, an original musical feature film, is now available to stream on Prime Video. The movie follows a group of influencers as they take up residence in a famed Hollywood apartment building to pursue dreams of social media stardom.

“As a choreographer, I understand the fragility and power of physical gatherings,” says Kyle Marshall, founder and artistic director of Kyle Marshall Choreography (KMC). “It is how our medium exists.” Marshall is a choreographer, performer, and teacher who sees the dancing body as a container of history, an igniter of social reform and a site of celebration. Kyle is a former member of the Trisha Brown Dance Company, Doug Elkins Choreography etc., and Tiffany Mills Company. Kyle received a 2018 NY Dance and Performance Juried Bessie Award, a 2020 Dance Magazine Harkness Promise Award and a 2020 Bessie Honoree for his revival of Colored (2017). He has also received choreographic fellowships from Princeton University, Center for Ballet and the Arts, and residencies from Monira Foundation, 92nd st Y, CPR, and Bethany Arts Community.

Dean Francis Alfar’s short story for children, “How Rosang Taba Won a Race” (Kung Paano Nanalo si Rosang Taba sa Isang Karera), is now a one-act play with music, adapted by playwrights Rody Vera and Maynard Manansala, and produced by Dulaang UP.

Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has announced that a stage version of the movie musical 1660 Vine has joined the MTI catalogue.

Lakeshore Records is set to release 1660 Vine—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally November 11 featuring original songs by twenty-something songwriters with music supervision David Lawrence and Faye Greenberg.
