New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts

The New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) theatre-arts school founded in 2004 that has served more than 10,000 students between the ages of 5 and 85. It has relocated from Bloomfield and now teaches at St. John's Episcopal Church, 55 Montclair Avenue in Montclair, with a West Orange mailing address. NJSDA offers summer theatre camps for kids, tweens and teens running from late July into mid-August, along with Saturday youth theatre classes, adult acting and improv curricula, on-camera classes for TV, film and commercials, playwriting workshops, corporate workshops and private coaching. Students perform in school productions and in improv troupes such as Sparks of Insanity and Nutty by Nature. The school has been voted Best of Essex nine years running and offers financial aid so that no student is turned away for financial reasons.
