Create A Play Summer Camp at Compass Rose Theater!

Compass Rose Theater, a nonprofit professional teaching theater company in Annapolis, Maryland founded in 2011, runs a series of one-week daytime theater camps each summer. Create A Play is offered for ages 5-12 during the week of August 10, 2026. All camps meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and each week carries its own theme and its own registration. In Create A Play, young actors take on several theatrical roles - playwright, collaborator, actor and designer - as they build an original play from scratch, develop characters with clear objectives, solve staging problems as a group, and perform the finished piece. Registration is handled per camp week through the theater's Arts People page, and the company asks families to email its office for scholarship information.
