Colorado Shakespeare Festival Summer Camp

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival, a professional company associated with the University of Colorado Boulder, runs summer camps for ages 6 to 18 on the CU Boulder campus through CSF Education. Shakespeare's Sprites, for ages 6 to 9, is a playful introduction to the Bard using pool-noodle fights, silly insults, Renaissance songs and lively scene work, meeting mornings for one week and closing with a showing for family and friends in the Loft Theatre. Camp Shakespeare, for ages 9 to 18, meets weekday afternoons across three weeks; working in small groups divided by age, students rehearse, stage and perform a shortened Shakespeare play, culminating in a free public performance in the Roe Green Theatre. In 2026 the plays were Julius Caesar for ages 9-11, Hamlet for ages 12-13 and Twelfth Night for ages 14-18. Payment plans, sibling discounts and scholarships are available.

Shakespeare's Sprites (ages 6-9) meets 9am-noon with a Friday showing in the Loft Theatre; tuition $275 earlybird / $305 regular. Camp Shakespeare (ages 9-18) meets Monday-Friday noon-4pm and ends with a free public performance in the Roe Green Theatre; tuition $1,075 earlybird / $1,220 regular. Held at the University Theatre Building on the CU Boulder campus. Payment plans, sibling discounts and scholarships available.
