Camp Tall Timbers

Camp Tall Timbers is a traditional coed overnight summer camp in High View, West Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, within driving distance of Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, and Dulles Airport. Operating for more than 50 years and owned and directed by Glenn Smith, it serves boys and girls ages 7 to 16 (grades 1-10) in two-, three-, five-, and seven-week sessions. Campers take part in classic camp activities including swimming, horseback riding, archery, zip lining, tennis, sports, arts and crafts, and campfires, in a program the camp describes as promoting independence, decision-making, socialization and self-discovery. The camp is American Camp Association accredited. Its grounds are also rented as an outdoor event and preseason training venue.

All sessions serve grades 1-10. Registration for 2027 opened with 2026 rates held; registering before September 21 locks in the lowest rates. Tuition covers room and board, instruction in all activities including horseback riding, linen service, laundry, and counselor gratuities. Referral discount of $100 for both parties with no limit; sibling discounts of $300 for a 3-week session and $200 for a 2-week session. A Counselor in Training (CIT) program is also offered.
