By: Faetra Petillo Aug. 05, 2008
Acclaimed singer/songwriter Jeremy Schonfeld will take the stage at New York's The Cutting Room on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 8:00pm. Backed by his full band which includes Alec Berlin (Guitar), Randy Landau (Bass), Gary Seligson (Drums) and Stephen "Hoops" Snyder (Keyboard), the concert will feature a diverse range of material from the previously released 37 Notebooks, Blue Skies & All, the re-release of Drift, tracks written for the upcoming feature film Clear Blue Tuesday, and music from a forthcoming solo album.
Hailed by The New York Times as a blend of Jonathan Larson and Billy Joel, Schonfeld's singular blend of tuneful pop, hard-edged rock, gospel, soul and blues has made him one of today's most sought after musical theater composers. The recently released album, 37 Notebooks, features some of Broadway's hottest vocal talents, including: Shoshana Bean, Lauren Kennedy, Julia Murney, Adam Pascal, Kate Shindle, Amy Spanger, and Tracie Thoms, among others. Early reviews of the album herald it as a collection of "songs that play together like some kind of musical of the mind" (Blogcritics Magazine) "a head above most musicians out there today" (Pop Stars Plus) "playful and adventurous offer(ing) every fan of strong songwriting [something] that they can attach themselves to" (Are You On Something.com) and "easy to get drawn into these heartfelt pieces" (Parasites & Sycophants).WHEN: Monday, August 18, 2008, at 8:00pm
