ROBOCOPERA: One-Woman Parody Opera Comes to The Green Room 42
Nikki Muller stars alongside composer Brian Holman and Jason Rosario in the satirical production
After a sold-out workshop debut at PIT SOLOCOM '26 and oversold concert at the National Opera Center's Scorca Hall this March, Nikki Muller is bringing her new one-woman parody opera, Robocopera, back for a one-night performance on Saturday May 9-- poetically timing this Mother's Day weekend show during her third trimester of pregnancy.
Translating scenes from the 1987 action movie into German, French, and Italian lyrics, Muller presents a satirical love letter to both opera and Verhoeven's film. Interspersed by metacommentary that offer a crash course in opera history and Robocop lore, the show features virtuosic accompaniment from its composer Brian Holman, plus live cue card subtitles, puppetry, and-- of course-- a dream ballet featuring Jason Rosario as ED-209. It's a madcap, gender-bending fever dream of high-meets-lowbrow that will delight seasoned opera fans, fanboys, and everyone in between... except maybe Timothée Chalamet.
The show will take place on Saturday, May 9 at 8PM, and will be followed by a talkback Q&A.
