Inspired by the Fabulous Jennifer Wren's Big Night Out and Eric Vetter's No Name and a Bag of Chips. the Uptown Cabaret is an opportunity to play; to enjoy your music; your art; an opportunity to share this joy with your fellow singers, composers and lyricists. Bring that new audition song! Bring that song that you'd never get to sing otherwise! Bring that new material for your BMI class and test it out in a safe and fun place!

But why the heck is it so...far...uptown?

Many of our Big Night Out regulars live so...far...up in The Heights or in Inwood. (Including ME!) There are so many singers and composer people up in this 'hood and we have always had to make the trek to midtown or downtown...so why not have something up HERE? We have a great neighborhood that is continually growing. We have this fab café-with a piano-near a beautiful park...you almost don't want to tell anybody about what's up here and spoil the secret. But for those of you not from Upstate Manhattan, we invite you to come on up and play with us!

Indian Road Café offers an excellent wine and beer -and coffee!-selection as well as great food from paninis to lobster mac and cheese all amidst a warm and casual atmosphere. They also are home to a weekly singer/songwriter open mic, comedy shows and classical performances by Opera On Tap.

So come join us for No Name Presents: The Uptown Cabaret starting on January 20th and continuing on the third Thursday of every month. (Save for March where we will be there on the 10th, as well, you just can't mess with St. Patty's Day.) There's no minimum and no cover.

Alexandra de Suze is your hostess with the mostess and Rich Campbell will be fiercely on piano.

Sign-up starts at 6:45 and the show starts at 7pm so grab your book and come on UP to No Name presents: The Uptown Cabaret!
