MacRae, Cuccioli, Harnar, Lori Tan Chinn & More Set For Michael Colby's Birthday Bash to Benefit Child Find of America

The Triad will be the setting for librettist/lyricist Michael Colby's 65th Birthday bash on Sunday, October 30th at 7pm, presented by his colleague and pal, Sandi Durell, publisher and editor of entertainment site,

The event, benefitting Child Find of America, will feature a repertoire from several Colby musicals including Tales of Tinseltown, Dangerous, Mrs. McThing, They Chose Me, Boynton Beach Club, North Atlantic, The First Family of Second Avenue and Slay it With Music. The lineup of top-tier performers, which is subject to change and additions, includes Tony© Nominees, Theater World Award nominees, theater, TV and cabaret stars: Bethe Austin, Joan Barber, P.J. Benjamin, Stephen Berger, Kevin Cahoon, Lori Tan Chinn, Erin Cronican, Robert Cuccioli, Peggy Eason, Louisa Flaningam, Jeff Harnar, Jeff Keller, Jason Kravits, Rob & Stacie Langeder, Audrey Lavine, Randie Levine-Miller, Heather MacRae, Carolyn Mignini, Daryl Sherman, Marianne Tatum, Maureen Taylor, members of TADA!, and Ryan Bauer Walsh. It is rumored that Sandi Durell will perform one of Colby's compositions, and a complete cast will soon be announced. Sara Louise Lazaus is on board to direct and Greg Kenna will serve as musical director for the evening.

Michael Colby is the author of a quintessential New York memoir, "The Algonquin Kid - Adventures Growing Up In New York's Legendary Hotel." The treasured stories of his childhood as a real-life counterpart to Eloise of the Plaza were originally published in a popular thirty-part series called "The Algonquin Kid" on Among other stories, Colby recounts writing and rehearsing many of his musicals at The Algonquin in a studio his grandparents (the owners, Ben and Mary Bodne) provided. These include Charlotte Sweet (composer: Gerald Jay Markoe), nominated for three Drama Desk Awards in 1982, and Tales of Tinseltown, a sardonic 1930s Movieland Musical he wrote with composer Paul Katz. "The Algonquin Kid" was published in 2015 by BearManor Media.
