Lesli Margherita & Alexis Fishman to Join Patty & Emily at The Laurie Beechman

By: Aug. 29, 2014

After two successful shows in the winter, Patty & Emily are bringing their special brand of fangirl enthusiasm to The Laurie Beechman! Join in the obsessive Broadway chat with this late night talk show. Patty & Emily, along with their music director Jeremy Robin Lyons, will welcome Broadway guests Lesli Margherita, Alexis Fishman, and more for performances and interviews, all the while gushing over them embarrassingly. There will be gasping, laughing, probably a lot of tears, and a whole lot of Broadway love.

Lesli Margherita was born and raised in California, trained at UCLA, and was soon after chosen to star in MGM's television series "Fame LA" directed by Kenny Ortega. She has gone on to star and recur on numerous television shows and pilots including "Major Crimes", "The Suite Life On Deck", "Charmed", "NYPD Blue", "The District", "JAG", and "On The Lot", produced by Steven Spielberg. Lesli Margherita won the 2009 Laurence Olivier Award for her performance as Inez in ZORRO THE MUSICAL on London's West End. in 2011 her performance as Lilli/Kate in the Reprise! production of KISS ME KATE earned her an Ovation Award for Best Actress. Lesli can be seen nightly on Broadway as Mrs. Wormwood in MATILDA THE MUSICAL, currently playing at The Shubert Theatre.

Alexis Fishman was Born and bred in sun-drenched Sydney (though sometimes it rains) and brings a down to earth, wholehearted passion to her work. She is best known in Australia for her Helpmann Award (Australian Tony) nominated performance as the young Dusty Springfield in the hit musical DUSTY. She graduated from the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). Competing in 3 heats and beating out phenomenal talent, Alexis was named 2012's "Next Broadway Sensation" by the New York Music Theatre Festival. Alexis is the creator and star of DER GELBE STERN, a one-woman show set in Berlin 1933 that tells the story of wildly famous fictional cabaret star Erika Stern. The show premiered at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2011 followed by extremely successful seasons in Melbourne and Sydney and will premiere in New York in 2013.

Patty & Emily in "Patty & Emily &" plays The Laurie Beechman (407 W. 42nd Street) on September 15th, 2014 at 9:30pm. There is a $10 cover charge and $15 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.westbankcafe.com/beechman_theatre. For more information, call 212-695-6909

Patty & Emily came to New York separately with a love of musical theatre, sarcasm, and sass. They met in improv class at the Upright Citizens Brigade, forming an instant bond over how amazing Patti LuPone is, and eventually started a Vlog. Mixing their theatre knowledge with their snarky senses of humor, their Vlog soon gained attention from Tony nominees and Broadway producers. As special correspondents for Memphis, Patty & Emily interviewed the cast at the Tony after party and hosted the "Memmy Awards" for Memphis's one year Broadway anniversary. Their comedy videos have been featured by Broadway musicals Newsies, Leap of Faith, and Lysistrata Jones.
